Make Money Get Prizes

I loved comic books when I was kid. I loved everything about them, even the ads.

Omigod you could buy the coolest things like toy soldiers and a 7-foot long nuclear submarine.

You could get free money...

and tips on how to score!

And in case you were a wimp and kids pushed you around on the playground Charles Atlas could make you a new man like he did for Mac.

Or you could join the Black Dragon Society and then your hands would become deadly registered weapons.

And I used to read the ads and look at all the cool prizes you could get from selling things, like bow and arrow sets. I think I ordered some seeds once but I never sold them. And has anybody actually ever bought or sold Grit magazine? The thing has been freakin' published since 1882.

Whatever happened to the dorky kids who gave their testimonies? I think that's a good research project.

I once made my Christmas money by selling the Christmas cards I showed people. I had found this ad in a comic book to make money selling Christmas cards. I went around to all the neighbors and sold them season's greetings. Years and years later I ended up at a legal copy shop and the owner had me do the same thing again, only with selling to all his lawyer clients. I still love comic books, even though I'm 43!

I, too, sold cards and got enough points or something to order a groovy sleeping bag with flower power flowers all over it.
