Use the Force

Star Wars makes sense to me.

When I went to rehab and they told me I needed to find some power I could tap into or I was a dead man I couldn't think of anything better than the Force. I thought about Luke trying to move his spaceship and that weird scene in the cave where he cuts off Vader's head. What was that all about anyway?

Anyway I still can't think of anything better and somehow I have managed to kick dope for 15 years. But still I never underestimate the power of the Dark Side.

Obi-Wan Kenobi said, "Don't give in to hate. That leads to the Dark Side."

Yoda said, "Fear is the path to the Dark Side. Fear leads to anger; anger leads to hate; hate leads to suffering."

So pretty much I use Star Wars to make sense of life.

The same goes for Star Trek, which taught me a lot about the struggle between good and evil. Remember "The Enemy Within", the episode where a transporter malfunction splits Captin Kirk in half and his evil side gets drunk, tries to takeover the ship and puts the moves on Yeoman Janice Rand?

And even Spock struggled with his human urges.

You see Spock didn't think partying was logical. And for me the struggle against the Dark Side has always been about the part of me that wants to rock 'n' roll all night and party every day.

I had 13 Kiss posters on my wall when I was a kid. Instead of using the Force I prayed to the God of Thunder every day and night.

Now that I am grown up I have come to my senses. But when I have kids I still want them to join the MiniKiss Army.

Beware the Dark Side.
